Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning Donates More Than $30,000 to Water.org in 2016

January 25, 2017 // Franchising.com // LAKEWOOD, Colo. – In its continued support of Water.org’s efforts to end the global water crisis, Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning, one of the nation’s fastest-growing and greenest carpet cleaning franchises, donated $30,280 to the cause in 2016.

Since announcing its support of Water.org in October 2015, Oxi Fresh customers have been encouraged to book their carpet cleanings online, with a portion of each job being donated to Water.org. The proceeds have gone towards Water.org’s mission to help the 663 million people worldwide who do not have access to safe water and sanitation.

“As a carpet cleaning franchise company, it’s important to be focused on more than just cleaning carpets and selling franchises, so we couldn’t be more proud of our contribution to such an important and worthwhile cause,” said Oxi Fresh Founder and CEO Jonathan Barnett. “We hope to do our part to enable a life of health and dignity to the world’s most vulnerable.”

The importance of water is nothing new to Oxi Fresh. In fact, water conservation has been one of the carpet cleaning company’s highest priorities since its inception in 2006. Oxi Fresh uses a low-moisture cleaning method that requires two gallons of water per home instead of the 40-60 gallons more commonly required by other carpet cleaners.

“For every 100 homes cleaned, our carpet cleaning franchises only needs 200 gallons of water while other systems use up 4,000-6,000 gallons. That’s about 95% more water saved compared to other cleaners – a perfect example of water conservation in action,” said Barnett.

To date, Oxi Fresh has completed more than 500,000 jobs and saved more than 30 million gallons of water using its low-moisture carpet cleaning method.

“The importance of water cannot be overstated. Life would not exist without it. Yet today, over 663 million people lack access to safe water and 2.4 billion people do not have access to a toilet,” Barnett said. “We want to do our part to change this by continuing to support Water.org well into the future.”
