Tierra Encantada Continues Rapid Illinois Growth

Spanish language immersion franchise signs second Chicago development agreement since start of 2020

February 24, 2020 // Franchising.com // Minneapolis, Minn. - Having signed five development agreements since the beginning of the year, Tierra Encantada, the leader in Spanish immersion early education, has signed another deal for Chicago. The signing of this development agreement comes just weeks after the brand inked its first Illinois agreement for four centers.

This new deal for one center has been signed by husband-and-wife-duo Jill and Kevin Rempert. Though a lease has yet to be signed, the Remperts are eyeing locations in Wicker Park and West Town. They hope to open their location in February of 2021.

No strangers to franchising or business ownership, the Remperts have been involved with several business ventures. In 2011, they opened Epic Air Trampoline Park in South Elgin. The brand has wall-to-wall trampolines where participants can play dodgeball and basketball, as well as free jump. The business also offers a foam pit and indoor playground. In addition to their trampoline park, they opened a location of Nestle Tollhouse Café in 2015, which they operated for two years before selling it. The Remperts were searching for another business venture and fell in love with Tierra Encantada’s concept and its mission to help provide children with bilingual language opportunities.

“Two of our children have done foreign exchange programs and experienced other languages, so we know firsthand how helpful it can be to learn another language,” Jill stated. “We love the idea of a Spanish immersion daycare, especially one that serves organic food, and after reviewing the market, we knew that Tierra Encantada was the best concept in the industry. The combination of guided learning sessions, immersive activities, and conversation enable children to learn Spanish just as they would learn their native language. Children receive a wholesome learning experience in a comfortable, exciting environment.”

Founded in 2013 and franchising since 2019, Tierra Encantada offers quality childcare for children ranging from six weeks to six years of age. Students are immersed in a natural, dual-language learning environment with teaching, songs, games, and conversation all occurring in Spanish.

“Our trampoline park has been providing kids and families with fun experiences for close to 10 years,” stated Kevin. “Getting involved with Tierra Encantada is another way that we can help set kids up for future success in a fun, positive learning environment. We cannot wait to open our doors and see how we can make a positive impact in the northwest Chicago community.”

In addition to immersing students in a dual-language learning environment, Tierra Encantada strives to be environmentally friendly by offering cloth diapering for children and providing wholesome, organic foods cooked fresh daily in on-site commercial kitchens. The use of LED lights and solar panels also puts an emphasis on environmental care.

“Jill and Kevin’s experience with a child-focused business makes them prime franchisees for Tierra Encantada,” said Tierra Encantada founder and CEO Kristen Denzer. “They have tremendous experience as business owners, and their passion for helping children in their local community fits perfectly with our mission to provide language immersion opportunities that will help set kids up for success.”

The Chicago expansion plan comes nine months after Tierra Encantada launched its franchise opportunity and announced plans to expand its national footprint. Today, there are four centers open and operating in Minnesota, and company plans call for having additional centers under development in all 50 states within five years.
