Mosquito Shield Launches a Second Michigan-Based Franchise Location

Residential Mosquito Control Franchise Experiencing Rapid Growth during COVID Pandemic

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. (PRWEB) July 27, 2020 - Mosquito Shield Franchise Corporation, a leading residential mosquito and tick control service with over 60 locations across the United States, is expanding its presence in Michigan with the launch of Mosquito Shield of Greater Grand Rapids.

Of the company’s recent growth, Mosquito Shield CEO David Briggs said, “Residential mosquito and tick control is a fast-growing business sector, and as the first company in this space over 19 years ago, we have the foundation to be extremely well-positioned for growth.”

Mosquito Shield spent over a decade refining its formulas and application methods from its Massachusetts headquarters before introducing a franchise model for local entrepreneurs in 2013.

“Our methodical approach to growth has set us up well for the impact of the COVID pandemic,” said Mr. Briggs. “While many businesses have struggled because of stay-at-home orders, such conditions have created a booming market for our services because people are left to enjoy the summer from their own backyards, rather than on vacation or at restaurants or large gatherings. The Greater Grand Rapids location is owned by Russ Plummer, a Wyoming, MI native who will service a large territory around Grand Rapids that includes Grand Haven on the Lake Michigan coast.

“I was a customer of Mosquito Shield of West Michigan for five years,” said Mr. Plummer. “My youngest daughter had spent too many summers covered in welts from mosquito bites. That all changed once we became Mosquito Shield customers, so when I found out that the Grand Rapids territory was available, it didn’t take me long to embrace the opportunity because my family already believes in the product and service provided by Mosquito Shield.”

Russ is an active member of the Grand Rapids community. He has spent twenty years coaching girls’ softball in the community, is the former President of Hudsonville Little League, and has been on the Board of Georgetown Little League for the past 15 years.

“I’ve invested a good chunk of my life in serving this community,” said Mr. Plummer. “My goal as a Mosquito Shield owner is to continue with that investment, serve our local customers well and build a reputation as a reliable and valuable local business.”
