Gyroville Continues to Master all Supply Chain Issues

May 11, 2022 // Franchising.com // Fort Lauderdale, FL. - Gyroville has been faced with the same supply chain issues that have plagued every company in the US during the last two years. In addition to the difficulties sourcing products, there have also been enormous increases in the costs of raw materials. This has forced many restaurants to make major changes to menus if they were even able to remain open for business. For Gyroville, they have had the good fortune of being able to successfully work through these issues. Through a strong partnership with their national distributor, Sysco, and an excellent working relationship with manufacturers producing key items, Gyroville has been able to stay ahead of major issues that could have impacted their supply chain.

“It became apparent in late 2021 that Gyroville would need to become extremely flexible in order to continue serving it's guests the menu items that helped build our loyal following since opening the first location in 2010,” said the founder and CEO, Lambros Kokkinelis. He continued, “we worked closely with our suppliers to stay well ahead of changes occurring in the supply chain. There was never a moment where we couldn’t serve our traditional gyro sandwich and many other key items to our customers.”

2021 was a very challenging year for franchise growth in the restaurant industry. Gyroville achieved its modest goal of signing two new franchisees last year. Both of these locations are currently scheduled to open next month.

The new look fast casual restaurant environment seems to place equal emphasis on dine in vs. delivery. “The pandemic has changed the restaurant industry that we thought we all understood. From the increase in the number of people working from home to the ease with which delivery platforms enable fresh food delivered, now is the time to adapt to a changing environment,” said Mr. Kokkinelis.
