Junk King’s “Dump Truck” Vs. “Lovestruck” Campaign is Back:

Breaking Up with Your Ex’s Junk or Falling Head Over Heels this Valentine’s Day

February 10, 2023 // Franchising.com // BURLINGAME, Calif. - Whether you are looking to celebrate Valentine’s Day this season or not, Junk King has you covered by bringing back its “Dump Truck” and “Lovestruck” campaigns.

Junk King is calling all who are heartbroken across the country to take revenge by dumping their ex’s junk while contributing to a good cause. The sixth annual “Dump Truck” campaign invites local community members to toss their former lover’s items that belong in the trash - from old photos, clothing, loves notes and more - into its trucks for free. Junk King will donate $1 to the American Heart Association for every item dumped with a limit of two items per person.

The “Dump Truck” is the devil on one’s shoulder, while “Lovestruck” is the angel on the other celebrating those who are spending Valentine’s Day with a special someone. “Lovestruck” participants have the chance to show the world their love by sharing a photo of themselves and what they love about their partner on Facebook using the hashtag #JKLovestruck and tagging their participating Junk King location.

“Lovestruck” will be running from Feb. 1 to Feb. 14 with all Junk King locations participating. Junk King has committed to donating $1 to the American Heart Association for each submission up to $500 with a limit of one submission per couple.

“Celebrating the Dump Truck and Lovestruck campaigns is our favorite time of the year to give back to a great cause and share all the good and bad emotions that come on Valentine’s Day,” said Junk King’s Brand President, Lisa Merry. “In honor of the Valentine’s holiday, we love bringing awareness to American Heart Month each year by donating to the American Heart Association. We are proud to support the mission to find treatment for heart disease alongside such a dedicated organization.”

As part of Junk King’s commitment to being eco-friendly, any items tossed in the “Dump Trucks” will be taken to a large warehouse to facilitate managing and sorting of the materials. In fact, more than sixty percent of the junk collected from Junk King jobs are recycled, rather than dropped at landfills. Through partnerships with local nonprofits and community organizations, the remaining items are donated and repurposed to benefit residents.
