Great Harvest Bread Company Partners with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

10% of all sales at participating locations on June 27 will go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Societies Dare to Dream Project Helping Kids with Blood Cancer

June 27, 2023 // Franchising.com // Dillon, MT - Great Harvest Bread Company has partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to raise donations across its franchise locations that will exclusively benefit the life-saving work of The Dare to Dream Project, a program working to change the paradigm of treatment and care for pediatric blood cancer patients.

On June 27, Great Harvest franchises will donate 10 percent of sales to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Societies Dare to Dream Project. More than 50 Great Harvest Bread locations across the United States will be participating on this day, and each sale will support the mission to fund cutting-edge research helping improve the lives of children and families affected by blood cancer.

“We are excited to partner with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to raise money to support The Dare to Dream Project and help families across the United States,” said Mike Ferretti, CEO of Great Harvest Bread Co. “Safer treatments for kids battling blood cancer is essential, and we’re proud our company will support the society’s mission.”

Supporting LLS and the Dare to Dream Project

Through The Dare to Dream Project, LLS has responded to the urgent need for safer, less toxic treatments and access to free support and resources for pediatric blood cancer patients and their families. Kids are different and deserve kid-sized treatments. Yet only 5 percent of cancer drugs have been approved for first-time use in kids, and 80 percent of childhood cancer survivors develop chronic health issues from their treatment.

“The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is grateful the Great Harvest Bread Company will support the organization with raising donations, “said Megan Hernandez, the director of consumer initiatives with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society “We’ve accomplished so much through The Dare to Dream Project, but much more work needs to be done so we can help all kids and families affected by blood cancer. The generous support of Great Harvest Bread Company will drive us towards reaching our goals.”
