Jerry’s Abra Auto Body & Glass of Mankato Donates to the Alzheimer’s Association

September 29, 2023 // Franchising.com // Mankato, MN - Jerry’s Abra Auto Body & Glass, a locally owned and operated collision repair center located in Mankato, Minnesota, announced today it had donated $5,100 to the Alzheimer’s Association.

The donation is the result of a summer long partnership between Jerry’s Abra and the Mankato MoonDog’s Summer Collegiate baseball team. Each time a MoonDog’s player scored a home run, Jerry’s Abra donated one hundred dollars to the Alzheimer’s Association.

The MoonDogs hit 51 home runs this season, 25 of those were hit at the ISG Field during the 2023 season, resulting in the $5,100 donation. The Kottschade’s decided again this year to donate for every home run hit during the season instead of just on MoonDog’s home field. The contribution will be used to fund research, care, and advocacy efforts to end Alzheimer’s and Dementia for those living with the disease.

Geralynn Kottschade, chief financial officer, Jerry’s Abra Auto Body & Glass said the company is happy to support such a wonderful cause. “Having watched my grandmother, mother and many other family members and a friend live with Alzheimer’s and Dementia, I understand what this terrible disease can do to a person and their family. That is why is it so important to support the Alzheimer’s Association mission in finding a cure. The Alzheimer’s Association is leading the way in finding a cure and I truly hope in my lifetime I am able to meet the first survivor.”
