School of Rock East Hartford is Ready to Rock N’ Roll

October 23, 2023 // Franchising.com // EAST HARTFORD, Conn. - School of Rock will be celebrating the opening of its school in East Hartford, Conn. The event will take place at 36 Main Street from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22. The event will offer live performances by the School of Rock West Hartford House Band, a food truck, tours of the school and more.

School of Rock East Hartford is owned by Scott Rownin. With 35 years of experience as a drummer, Rownin's journey into music education began when he was invited to accompany his daughter's fourth-grade band for a performance of Dave Brubeck's "Take Five." This experience inspired him to start teaching elementary school students. During his time in Westport, Conn, Rownin coincidentally met an adult student from a local School of Rock, which sparked the idea that this could be a promising business venture. Upon contacting School of Rock, he learned about the brand's interest in establishing a presence in the Hartford area. As a result, Rownin now owns two School of Rock locations in Hartford, Conn.

“Music held significant importance in my childhood education and has remained a source of creativity and personal growth throughout my adult life," said Rownin. "School of Rock perfectly blends my lifelong love of music with my passion for teaching. I'm thrilled to offer more students  access to our unique, performance-based music education programs in the Hartford area.”

School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes bass lessons, guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons and piano lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz and Led Zeppelin. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol, The Voice and Broadway.

"Scott is passionate about music and inspiring the next generation of young artists,” said Rob Price, CEO of School of Rock. “We are delighted to celebrate his second school and to see him positively impact the lives of his students throughout the community.”
