SYNERGY HomeCare Announces New Ownership of Philadelphia-Based Franchise

November 17, 2023 // Franchising.com // Tempe, Ariz. - SYNERGY HomeCare is proud to announce the new ownership of its office located in the heart of the City of Brotherly Love, SYNERGY HomeCare of Philadelphia.

Since the company first opened its doors in 2014, it has been a staple of the Philadelphia caregiving community, serving all residents of the city as well as surrounding neighborhoods including Drexel Hill, Glenolden, Springfield, Morton, and Lansdowne. SYNERGY HomeCare of Philadelphia has offers some of the highest quality in-home care available in the region, and it will continue to uphold these standards under the new leadership of Manoj and Shivangi Thakur.

Manoj and Shivangi have backgrounds in business development and management, as well as healthcare industry expertise.

The father and daughter team will continue to operate the company from 525 S. 4th Street. Ste 585 in Philadelphia, providing clients with a wide variety of non-medical care options, from companion care to delivering personalized assistance, as well as offering specialized support for individuals managing chronic health conditions or recovering from illness or surgery.

The Thakurs recognized a growing need in their community for these services, particularly among Baby Boomers. Philadelphia is also home to numerous world-class hospitals and rehabilitation centers, offering the Thakurs a strong network of possible referral partners.

Before transitioning into ownership of SYNERGY HomeCare’s Philadelphia-based franchise, Manoj spent over 20 years in leadership roles in IT, including starting and managing his own business in digital transformation. With a master’s degree in Business Administration as well as a successful career as an entrepreneur under his belt, Manoj is well-equipped to elevate SYNERGY HomeCare of Philadelphia and bring the company’s services to an even wider audience.

By his side is his daughter, Shivangi, who specializes in the health and well-being side of the business. Shivangi is currently in her final year of pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry which she plans to utilize in medical school after completing her undergraduate studies. She has a vested interest in holistic medicine and aims to use her natural compassion to build upon the network of care that SYNERGY HomeCare has already developed in the Philadelphia area.

Although the Thakurs already had their successful ventures away from the homecare industry, they were still inspired to join the field after witnessing the aging process of Manoj’s grandparents. Manoj witnessed many of his grandparents’ needs going unmet because the rest of the family could not devote enough time away from their busy schedules to provide the around-the-clock assistance that was necessary. This experience made Manoj vow to never let another family experience the hardships that his family had to face.

“We are committed to being an extension of our client’s family,” said Manoj. “I know firsthand how devastating it can be to feel like you can’t provide a family member with the help you know they deserve, and it’s our mission to provide care and attention that exceeds the expectations of any family that comes to us for help. Your loved one is our loved one, and we’ll care for them as your own family would.”

“Our company culture is deeply rooted in kindness and compassion,” said Shivangi. “We believe that bettering the lives of others also betters us. This philosophy has guided me thus far through my education and now I’m excited to allow it to guide my professional career. The act of serving others and witnessing the joy that we can bring them is what tells me I’m following the right path.”

Although Philadelphia is known as the City of Brotherly Love, many residents lack a local support system. These individuals rely heavily on caregivers for essential tasks, including cooking, shopping, running errands, and maintaining their homes. Moreover, some require vital personal care, such as assistance with bathing, dressing, and daily activities like using the toilet.

“Distance should not keep adult children from being in tune with their aging loved ones to help them maintain their quality of life while aging in place, something that can be accomplished through local in-home care,” Manoj explained. “We're not just caregivers; we’re an extension of your family. We take your loved ones’ aging process seriously and we will go above and beyond to ensure it goes as smoothly as possible.”
