Bubbakoo’s Burritos Opens First Michigan Restaurant

January 12, 2024 // Franchising.com // MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - Bubbakoo’s Burritos is officially coming to Michigan with the state’s first-ever location set to open inside the Soaring Eagle Casino on January 11. Located within the casino's new Food District at 6800 Soaring Eagle Blvd, the restaurant is owned by Michael Hughes and Lloyd Sugarman.

Hughes and Sugarman are both seasoned multi-brand entrepreneurs with an extensive background in the restaurant and franchising industries. The pair are also Johnny Rockets location owners and first met Bubbakoo’s founders, Bill Hart and Paul Altero through this venture several years ago. In the time since, each has developed a close relationship with the other, leading Hughes and Sugarman to gain interest in the Bubbakoo’s brand and eventually, open a restaurant of their own.

“We are thrilled to be a part of the Bubbakoo’s family and look forward to introducing the brand to the community and to visitors at Soaring Eagle,” said Hughes. “Being able to open the first restaurant in Michigan is an honor, especially since it has been a long time coming. Bubbakoo’s holds a special place in our hearts, and we can’t wait to see what the future brings. Our goal is to provide a memorable dining experience that will keep guests coming back for more and I'm eager to open our doors to all.”

Bubbakoo’s Burritos has a unique menu, superb customer service and welcoming dining environment. The new Bubbakoo’s Burritos offers the classic menu items the brand is known for, such as the recently renamed Papi Hibachi (hibachi style steak and shrimp) burrito, Nashville burrito, Burritodilla, customizable entrees and more. Each menu item is made with fresh, tasty ingredients that will please any palette.

Bubbakoo’s Burritos features a variety of unique, customizable and wow-worthy menu items made-to-order with fresh ingredients, the brand has grown from its Jersey Shore roots.
