Another Broken Egg Cafe Signs Multi-Unit Agreement to Bring Three New Locations to South-Central Kansas

Local Wichita State University Graduates and Savvy Entrepreneurs to Lead the Charge on Expansion in Kansas

February 20, 2024 // Franchising.com // WICHITA, Kan. - Another Broken Egg Cafe, the award-winning, elevated ‘NextGen Casual’ daytime-only restaurant, announced today that ambitious entrepreneurs and Wichita State University graduates, Jonathan Peterson and Jacob O’Connor, have signed a multi-unit franchise agreement to bring three locations to South-Central Kansas. The first unit is slated to open in Northeast Wichita in the summer of 2024 and will be situated at 4858 East 35th Street North near their alma mater.

“After visiting a location and trying the unique and innovative Southern-inspired menu offerings at Another Broken Egg Cafe, we fell in love with the concept and knew that it would be a great addition to diversify the dining scene in the Greater Wichita community,” said Peterson. “Jacob and I are highly involved with the local community from our time at Wichita State, and we can’t wait to share the premier indulgent breakfast, brunch and lunch option with area residents and visitors alike.”

Lifelong friends and business partners, Peterson and O’Connor are established entrepreneurs who successfully founded and operated Wichita State University’s first name, image and likeness (NIL) business for collegiate athletes in the Wichita market. Demonstrating their shared commitment to learning the ins and outs of cafe operations through hands-on experience, Peterson and O’Connor are currently living in Orlando near the company’s headquarters for training. They plan to relocate to Wichita in March and will oversee the construction of their first location.

“Jonathan and Jacob are talented entrepreneurs with a clear dedication to mastering all the nuances of cafe operations as they stay in Orlando. We’re thrilled to welcome them to the Another Broken Egg Cafe franchise community,” said Jeff Sturgis, Chief Development Officer for Another Broken Egg Cafe. “They thoroughly researched and vetted several other concepts within the brunch segment before visiting Another Broken Egg Cafe and recognizing our franchise opportunity as a smart investment. We’re looking forward to further supporting them as they expand our presence in Kansas.”

With a total of 16 openings and several new agreements signed in 2023, Another Broken Egg Cafe, which is the largest, actively franchising brand in the brunch category, is on the road to surpassing the coveted triple-digit unit milestone. The brand is projected to open another 15 to 17 new locations in 2024, which will include its 100th cafe.

Open seven days a week for breakfast, brunch and lunch, Another Broken Egg Cafe showcases chef-inspired dishes that celebrate the indulgence of the breakfast and brunch experience through the finest, high-quality ingredients and hand-crafted cocktails. In addition to its signature Southern-inspired cuisine, the brand boasts a diverse menu that includes gluten-friendly, vegetarian and other offerings to meet dietary needs.
