Smalls Sliders® Bolsters Midwest Footprint, Inks Kansas Agreement

Innovative Cheeseburger Slider Brand Dropping 5 Cans Across State

March 12, 2024 // Franchising.com // KANSAS - Smalls Sliders, the industry-disrupting cheeseburger slider brand, has signed its latest multi-unit agreement with the development group, Slidin’ Thru ICT. The family-operated team consists of Jim and Teresa Sorlie, and their son Colton.

The 5-Can deal will bring the craveable cheeseburger sliders to markets including Wichita, Manhattan, and Salina with the first location expected to open in early 2025.

“After being introduced to the brand by our son-in-law, we were immediately drawn to the unique concept and its exciting appeal,” said Teresa Sorlie. “We had the opportunity to meet the leadership team in Atlanta and were greatly impressed— their love and clear vision for the brand was contagious. Once we saw the brand’s explosive growth beyond its roots in the Southeast, we knew we wanted to bring it to Kansas. We’re thrilled to play a part in growing the Smalls name to the Midwest and introducing it to our community soon.”

The family-run franchise group brings a wide array of professional experience into this new venture. Between business development and management, manufacturing, and real estate, the team is well-equipped to provide an excellent experience for guests across all of their Cans.

“Growing alongside such esteemed entrepreneurs like the Sorlies is a key reason why Smalls Sliders is on another level in the QSR industry,” said Maria Rivera, CEO of Smalls Sliders. “This is a tremendous opportunity for us to continue growing in the Midwest, and we look forward to supporting their team as we continue dropping Cans across the country.”

Smalls Sliders opened its first signature ‘Smorange™’ colored Can in 2019. Since its inception, Smalls Sliders has disrupted the QSR industry with its stacked leadership team and robust development pipeline, furthering its rapid growth trajectory with more than 200 Cans open or under development. The brand continues to garner high-level industry recognition, with Nation’s Restaurant News featuring Smalls Sliders in its “Breakout Brands of 2023”, and QSR Magazine ranking the brand in its annual QSR 50 Contenders list. Other accolades include ranking on Entrepreneur magazine’s “Top New & Emerging Franchises” list in 2023.
