Wild Eggs Welcomes Return of Co-Founder JD Rothberg As Senior Vice President of Operations

March 18, 2024 // Franchising.com // LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Wild Eggs announces the return of one of its founders – JD Rothberg, who assumes the role of Senior Vice President of Operations. With his homecoming, Rothberg pledges to elevate Wild Eggs into the premiere breakfast place, emphasizing the importance of high-quality food, company culture and unparalleled service.

“Leaving Wild Eggs nearly five years ago was humbling,” said Rothberg. “Founding this concept was a labor of love, and when I left, it was a period of mourning - Wild Eggs was my baby, but it afforded me invaluable insights and reaffirmed my passion for the restaurant industry. I hope to impart to our team that what we do is very important. People spend their precious time and hard-earned money with us, so it’s our duty to exceed their expectations.”

As Senior Vice President of Operations, Rothberg will oversee day-to-day operations. He said his goal is to continue Wild Eggs’ success and use his operational experience to help elevate the guest experience.

Rothberg emphasizes the pivotal role of personal connection in fostering memorable guest experiences.

Rothberg left Wild Eggs in late 2019 to pursue different avenues, including most recently serving as Director of Operations for Bluegrass Restaurants Holdings. Rothberg said the decision to return to Wild Eggs felt like the right time.

“The stars aligned, and it feels like coming home,” says Rothberg. “My kids grew up in Wild Eggs – it’s part of our family. I’m eager to embark on this new chapter and contribute to the expansion of the Wild Eggs brand. I greatly appreciate the opportunity Andy Abbajay has given me. He has shown tremendous support and confidence in me, and I couldn’t be prouder to represent Wild Eggs again.”
