A Sweet Symphony of Flavors: The Story Behind Rainbow Sherbet

April 19, 2024 // Franchising.com // As the flowers bloom and the sun shines a bit brighter, it's the perfect time to kick back and celebrate the sweet signs of spring with Rainbow Sherbet. A trio of tart raspberry, sweet pineapple and tangy orange flavored sherbets, this scoop has been a classic flavor for decades.

Back in 1945, Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins introduced Orange Sherbet, Pineapple Sherbet, and Raspberry Sherbet as part of our original 31 Flavors. Fast forward to 1972, and a stroke of genius from our Flavor Experts brought these beloved sherbets together in one delightful scoop. After extensive testing to get the combination just right, the original Orange, Raspberry, and Pineapple Sherbets were combined to make the fan favorite, Rainbow Sherbet.

Sitting comfortably between ice cream and sorbet, sherbets have a luscious base of fruit purée complemented by a hint of dairy, resulting in a creamy yet refreshing fruity sensation. With swirling colors resembling a rainbow, this flavor combination is just as delicious as it is beautiful!
