Moms Want The Baby Fat On The Baby, Not

(Tuesday, March 20, 2007) - New mothers know a healthy pregnancy means weight gain-at least 25 to
35 pounds for normal weight women, according to Mayo Clinic. But once
the bundle of joy arrives, moms want the baby fat on the baby, not
their thighs.

Launa Cornell is a neonatal nurse and new mother who knows firsthand
about the struggle to shed baby fat: After her daughter Sarah was born
in 2004, Launa had to lose 52 pounds to get back to her pre-pregnancy
weight. She did it, and has kept it off since. Now she wants to share
her insights about safe, healthy, and effective post-partum weight
loss with all mothers who need to hear it.

Supporting her conclusions is Dr. Boyd Lyles, medical director for L A
Weight Loss (the program Launa used to successfully lose her baby
weight). He can teach your audience about proper weight loss
techniques, day-to-day health tips, and the right time to start a
weight loss campaign after giving birth.

Launa and Dr. Lyles can discuss:

* Why baby weight is critical for the proper health and development of
the baby, in utero and post-partum.

* How mothers can feed their babies-without feeding their thighs, too.

* What habits and foods make the difference between eating right and
gaining right, and eating wrong and gaining wrong.

* How long new moms should wait to start their weight loss efforts, and
why this is critical for their ultimate success.

* How long women should expect to retain the extra pounds.

* The best foods to eat during pregnancy, immediately after giving
birth, and 6 months later.

* How tired and stressed moms can lose weight steadily and effectively
without having to buy or prepare special food.

* How busy mothers can easily incorporate exercise into their hectic
schedules.

* What resources are available to new mothers to help them manage this
major life change, while maintaining their physical, mental, and
emotional health.
