Dickey's Barbecue Pit Reaches Columbus Suburb

Country's Fastest Growing Barbecue Chain Continues Growth in Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 14, 2011 // PRNewswire // -- Bill Bridges breaks away from other franchises to open his first Dickey's Barbecue Pit, the largest quick-serve barbecue chain in the country, in Delaware, a suburb of Columbus.

"Dickey's Barbecue Pit offers the perfect combination of great food and a strong business model," Bridges said. "It's an up and coming franchise that appears to be on the same tracks as larger brands in terms of national expansion."

This is the first Dickey's franchise opportunity for Bridges, who currently owns 5 franchises of a different brand.

"I am really excited to be a part of the Ohio community and bring back the barbecue," said Bridges, who will own and operate the location at 820 Sunbury Rd. in Delaware, OH.

"We are so thrilled that Bridges will be opening his own Dickey's Barbecue Pit," President of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. Roland Dickey, Jr. said. "As our company grows, we grow as a family. This is another great opportunity for the company."

Texas-based Dickey's Barbecue Pit opened in 1941 and began franchising in 1994. Dickey's Barbecue Pit is well-known for their pit-smoked signature meats, complimentary ice cream and the big yellow cups.

The original Dallas location is still open for business and Dickey's Barbecue Pit is still owned and operated by the Dickey Family.

There are 156 locations in 38 states.
