Kid To Kid Pays Over $11 Million to Customers in 2012

March 14, 2013 // Franchising.com // SALT LAKE CITY, UT - Kid to Kid, an international children’s and maternity resale franchise, announced the franchise funneled more than $11 million into the pockets of thousands of customers around the country, fueling the economy in 23 states. The resale report, an analysis of last year’s statistical figures, states in 2012, Kid to Kid purchased more than 7 million items from local families in 76 stores across the United States.

On top of the payout for their gently used kid’s stuff, Kid to Kid helps families save money as they replace those items . Used items at Kid to Kid cost up to 80 percent less than retail prices, saving customers approximately $80 million last year alone. “Used just makes sense,” said Kid to Kid founder Shauna Sloan.
Kid to Kid’s resale methods also benefitted the environment. Last year, the franchise recycled nearly 5 million pounds of apparel and accessories. "This is recycling at its best: families get paid to recycle things they’re no longer using, it reduces waste, and is less taxing on the environment than manufacturing new products," said Sloan.

With new stores opening and record numbers of customers buying and selling, Kid to Kid hired approximately 700 new or replacement employees in 2012. The franchise created many needed jobs across the nation, particularly at a time of high unemployment.

Kid to Kid looks to the future with hope and anticipation with nine new stores already scheduled to open in 2013. Sales numbers continue to rise across the country.
