This Time, 'Boss' Sends Employee Undercover on Special Episode Airing Friday, March 7

DENVER - March 5, 2014 // GLOBE NEWSWIRE // - PostNet CEO Steve Greenbaum will return to CBS's Emmy Award-winning "Undercover Boss" for a second look inside the company he co-founded 20 years ago - only this time he is sending an employee undercover in a first for the hit series. The special episode will unfold Friday, March 7 (8-9 p.m., EST/PST) on the CBS Television Network.

"Going undercover allowed me to see firsthand how the decisions made at the executive level directly impact our customers, franchisees and staff," said Greenbaum. "One thing was clear after my experience: PostNet represents a tight-knit family of franchisees and staff who work tirelessly to power small businesses across the country. Some lingering questions remained after the show, which I hope to answer by sending an employee undercover on this special episode."

In his first appearance, Greenbaum donned a shaggy wig and posed as "Brad," a former motorcycle shop owner, so he could discretely perform a variety of tasks, which included everything from designing marketing collateral to making outside sales calls, at PostNet centers across the country. Throughout his journey, he met some of PostNet's unsung heroes and heard the personal struggles of franchisees and employees.

One of those employees was Belton, a charismatic packaging expert at PostNet NY133 in the Bronx who will be tapped to go undercover in the newest episode. Greenbaum and Belton bonded over homemade lasagna and a heart-to-heart conversation about Belton's service during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

"I developed a deep respect and admiration for Belton after learning about the hardships that stemmed from his time in service," Greenbaum said. "When we were approached to do the Undercover Boss follow-up, I couldn't wait to recruit him for the mission."

With more than 700 locations worldwide, PostNet has carved a niche as the nation's first and only Neighborhood Business Center, providing small business owners with relevant services and supporting economic growth in communities across the country. Greenbaum, along with co-founder Brian Spindel, built the PostNet franchise system from the ground up and have remained intimately involved in all aspects of the company's operations.

UNDERCOVER BOSS is an Emmy Award-winning reality series that follows high-level corporate executives as they slip anonymously into the rank-and-file of their own companies. Each week, a different executive will leave the comfort of their corner office for an undercover mission to examine the inner workings of their corporation.
