School of Rock Coppell is Ready to Rock N’ Roll

November 02, 2023 // Franchising.com // COPPELL, TEXAS - School of Rock will be celebrating the opening of its school in Coppell, Texas with an event taking place at 150 S. Denton Tap Rd. Suite 116 on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Along with a ceremonial guitar smashing (School of Rock’s version of a ribbon-cutting), the event will offer performances by the School of Rock house band, charity raffle drawings, a music trivia game and more.

School of Rock Coppell is owned by Melissa Birchett, a passionate and classically trained musician who has dedicated her life to the pursuit of musical excellence. Birchett's journey through the world of music has been nothing short of extraordinary, with a Bachelor's degree from Pepperdine University and a Masters in Opera Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Birchett returned to her home state of Texas after spending time abroad and began teaching piano and vocals at a local School of Rock. She seamlessly transitioned into the role of music director, all the while nurturing a dream to own and operate her own School of Rock.

"After being a part of the School of Rock family for nine years, I'm thrilled to be living my dream of owning and running my own school,” said Birchett. “My strong ties to the community, as well as my firm belief in the power of music education, drive me to create a welcoming environment. Here, aspiring musicians of all backgrounds can gather to learn, develop, and flourish.”

School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes bass lessons, guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons and piano lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz and Led Zeppelin. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol, The Voice and Broadway.
