School of Rock Midlothian is Ready to Rock N’ Roll

November 17, 2023 // Franchising.com // MIDLOTHIAN, Va. - School of Rock will be celebrating the opening of its school in Midlothian, Virginia, with an event taking place at 4830 Commonwealth Center Parkway on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will offer tours of the school and more.

School of Rock Midlothian is owned by Bryan McRay. After 32 years of working in emergency services, McRay was ready for a change. After seeing how impactful and powerful the School of Rock community has been for his daughter for the past 10 years, he decided to open his own school.

"We create musicians, not 'music players’,’” said McRay. “Our goal is to foster musical growth in our students through a variety of performance-related activities. Our passion is for students to gain confidence, develop camaraderie, understand accountability and to have a great time learning a new skill as a result of this process."

School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes bass lessons, guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons and piano lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz and Led Zeppelin. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol, The Voice and Broadway.

"Bryan is passionate about his community and providing opportunities for students to further their music education,” said Rob Price, CEO of School of Rock. “We are delighted to have him lead this franchise as a School of Rock parent and owner. We look forward to the impact he will have on his students and the Midlothian community.”
