Homewatch CareGivers Opens New International Office in Panama, Marking Expansion into Its Sixth Country

Greenwood Village, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Homewatch CareGivers, the largest and most experienced international franchise provider of full-service, in-home care for people of all ages, has opened its newest international location in Panama City, Panama, making it the sixth worldwide location for the company, announced Leann Reynolds, president, Homewatch CareGivers (www.homewatchcaregivers.com).

The new office is owned by Luis Osborne and Gabriela Gonzales, who together also own and operate Homewatch CareGivers in Costa Rica, where they provided over 20,750 hours of care in their first year and provide on average over 2,300 hours of care per month. The office is within Edificio World Trade Center, Primer Piso, Area Comercial-Panama, Republica de Panama.

"The caregiving issues facing families, the elderly and women with children and aging parents are universal. Panamanians face the same struggles and stresses their contemporaries experience worldwide. Helping families and providing the highest quality of companion, personal and comprehensive in-home care services is our mission," Reynolds said.

Over 30,000 Americans reside in Panama, a country with 3.3 million people with six percent over age 65 and over 15 percent women aged 50 and over. According to the World Health Organization, Panama expends 8.4 percent of its GDP to achieve better health for its residents.

"Opening a new office in Panama is another strategic milestone for Homewatch CareGivers," added Reynolds. In addition to our significant presence in the U.S., the new office in Panama, along with locations in Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and Costa Rica, is part of our overall global plan as a world leader in the in-home care industry, giving us the broadest international footprint of any provider of comprehensive in-home care services. It positions our company to support those clients who choose to have medical procedures overseas, in popular destination countries such as Panama, Costa Rica and Ireland, as part of the growing trend in medical tourism."

According to a Deloitte report, Medical Tourism: Consumers in Search of Value, Panama joins countries such as Canada and Ireland, among others, who have ties with Johns Hopkins Hospital and other leading U.S.-based partnerships for medical tourism.
