Franchise Update and the IFA Team Up in a New 10-Year Conference Partnership

Franchise Update Media and the International Franchise Association (IFA) have announced a 10-year, industry-leading partnership to produce two new educational conferences for the franchising community.

The organizations will combine the resources and experience from five past conferences to produce two new and reimagined annual conferences, starting this year: the Franchise Customer Experience Conference (FranCXC) in June, and the Franchise Leadership & Development Conference (FLDC) in October. Both will be held in Atlanta at the InterContinental Buckhead.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled that our partnership with the IFA has grown, and for what this means to all those in franchising we serve,” says Therese Thilgen, CEO of Franchise Update Media. “As franchise leaders look to grow their brands and help their franchisees succeed, this partnership provides us with the opportunity to reimagine our annual marketing and development conferences to recognize the blurring of functional roles across franchise organizations.”

“Increased access to world-class content, training, and certification programs benefits the global franchising community as a whole,” says IFA President and CEO Matt Haller. “Together, the IFA and Franchise Update Media will create best-in-class content for franchise business leaders seeking enhanced customer experience, franchise development, and leadership.”

The first event, in June, will combine Franchise Update’s Franchise Marketing Leadership Conference with the IFA’s Operations and Marketing and Information Technology Conferences to create the new Franchise Customer Experience Conference and will take place this June 21–23 in Atlanta at the InterContinental Buckhead.

The second new event will combine Franchise Update’s Franchise Leadership & Development Conference with the IFA’s Development Conference and will be held October 18–20, also at the InterContinental in Buckhead.

“Partnerships like this provide unique benefits to IFA members and empower us to offer CFE and other professional education programs at partner events,” says Haller. It also will provide new platforms for the IFA to expand its membership and advocate more effectively on behalf of the franchise business model worldwide, he adds.

“After nearly 25 years of producing industry-leading franchise events, we’re excited to innovate with the IFA to deliver even better experiences for franchisors and franchisees alike to learn, network, and build their businesses in the coming years,” says Thilgen.
