IHG Opens Its 30th Holiday Inn in Germany

IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) has opened its 30th Holiday Inn in Germany. The latest hotel is located in Osnabruck, a city in the northwestern part of the country.

Four additional Holiday Inn brand hotels are in the pipeline for Germany, which is a major component of IHG's expansion plans in Europe as a whole. In fact, Germany is one of five priority markets for IHG worldwide. The company has registered continuous growth for this market since 2015: of a total of 133 hotels already opened or planned, 110 belong to the Holiday Inn brand family. Globally, the brands Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express can be found in nearly 4,000 locations.

The 4-star Holiday Inn Osnabruck has 158 rooms, three event spaces, and a spa. It is centrally located and close to Osnabruck's main train station, while the airport Munster/Osnabruck is about 20 miles away.

Holiday Inn Osnabruck is operated by IHG partner and franchisee GHOTEL hotel & living, a subsidiary of Aurelius Equity Opportunities. Jens Lehmann, managing director of the GHOTEL Group, a hotel and apartment house chain in Germany, said in the press release, "The Holiday Inn Osnabruck is the perfect addition to our portfolio. We will continue to drive our growth with this hotel and further strengthen our partnership with IHG."

IHG franchises, leases, manages or owns more than 5,600 hotels and nearly 843,000 guest rooms in more than 100 countries, with more than 1,900 hotels in its development pipeline.
