Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, a boutique luxury brand from IHG, has opened in Glasgow, Scotland. The Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel, with 113 rooms and suites, is situated in a landmark location with views of the Blythswood Square gardens.
Glasgow is a cultural hub with institutions including the Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet, and National Theatre of Scotland, as well as acclaimed museums and a thriving music scene.
IHG's Kimpton brand is known for its award-winning, seasonally inspired restaurants and bars. Bo & Birdy at the Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel is the brand's newest restaurant and bar globally.
"Glasgow is one of the UK's most exciting cities," said the hotel's General Manager Murray Thomson. "It's bursting with culture, music, history, and personality, making it a great location. Bo & Birdy will offer a unique new dining experience in the city, bringing to life soulful, hearty dishes using the best of Scottish produce."
The Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel is the second Scottish opening for the brand, following the Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel in Edinburgh, which opened earlier this year. Later this year, Kimpton will continue its European growth with debuts in Manchester and Barcelona. There are currently 68 Kimpton hotels open globally, with 27 more in the pipeline.
IHG currently has 349 hotels operating under 8 brands in the UK, including InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, Hotel Indigo, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, voco Hotels, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and Staybridge Suites, with another 26 in the pipeline.
