Last Chance: European Master & Multi-Unit Franchising Conference, Vienna, January 28-29

Time is running out to register for and attend the 2nd annual European Master & Multi-Unit Franchising Conference (EMMFC). The conference will take place at the historic Hotel Savoyen in Vienna, Austria, January 28-29.

Created by Franchise Update Media and MFV/Comexposium, the 2-day conference will address common issues and solutions affecting European franchise expansion. The EMMFC is a golden opportunity to learn from and network with like-minded franchisors, franchisees, and master developers interested in adding new units and brands across the Continent.

"This conference is modeled on our highly successful Multi-Unit Franchising Conference, held each spring in Las Vegas and now entering its 20th year," said Therese Thilgen, CEO of Franchise Update Media. "Our U.S. conference continues to draw more international visitors every year, many of whom asked us about holding a similar event in Europe as interest in multi-unit and multi-brand franchising there continues to grow."

More than 50 speakers and panelists from more than 10 countries will attend, including master franchisees, multi-unit and multi-brand franchisees, franchisors, and international franchise attorneys, consultants, and suppliers, including financing sources.

The conference will feature three keynote speakers. Catherine Monson, CEO of US-based Fastsigns International, will deliver the opening keynote, "The State of Franchising: U.S. and Global Perspectives." A second keynote is "Building a High-Performance Growth Culture in a Mega Franchisee System," from Glen Helton, Vice Chairman of NSP Corp., a franchisee of Burger King, KFC, and TGI Fridays based in Sweden. Special guest speaker Andreas Schwerla, former managing director of McDonald's Austria and Central Europe, and currently a 10-unit McDonald's franchisee in Austria, will speak on "How To Be Best in Class."

Other speakers and panelists will include representatives from several European franchise associations, multi-unit franchisees from the U.S., master franchisees from Europe, and the aforementioned franchise consultants, attorneys, international development experts, and capital sources.

Content is segmented into two tracks: Master Franchising and Multi-Unit/Multi-Brand. Master franchising continues to be the primary vehicle for brands seeking to expand in Europe. The continuing growth of multi-unit and multi-brand franchisees in Europe also will be a major focus. Attendees can look forward to general assemblies, networking opportunities, receptions, and a closing gala in the elegant and historical Wiener Rathauskeller.

More than 50 sponsors are supporting the conference, including Platinum sponsors Bloomin' Brands, Fastsigns International, and Orangetheory Fitness (US); and Gold sponsors Guinot (France), International Workplace Group (Switzerland), Pieology Pizzeria (US), and Polsinelli (US).

Sponsors also include franchise associations from Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Romania, and Slovenia.
