Multi-Brand Operator Opens Potbelly Airport Location

Opening a franchise in non-traditional locations is old hat for Frank Johnson. The founder and chief executive officer of Charlotte, NC-based Denard Enterprises, Inc., is well-versed at operating food and beverage concessions in airports throughout the southeast. He’s now added a new Potbelly Sandwich Shop in the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, where he is already operating Einstein Bros. Bagels, Papa John's Pizza, and Salsarita's locations.

“I’m thrilled to add a Potbelly location to the Charlotte airport – one of the nation’s busiest travel centers. Now, millions of domestic and international travelers can experience our tasty sandwiches,” said Johnson. “The brand’s proven success in non-traditional environments made it an attractive opportunity as we sought to expand our fast-casual restaurant portfolio of well-known, segment-leading restaurant concepts.”

The Potbelly brand is not new to the non-traditional segment. The brand has locations in a dozen airports and on or near 28 university campuses nationwide.
