The Franchise Update International Report Newsletter Is Back in Business!

Just a little more than a year ago, we ceased publishing this newsletter. Actually, we put it on hold and introduced the Covid-19 Report newsletter in its place. We figured franchisors would have plenty on their plate domestically dealing with the pandemic, without adding any more by looking to overseas expansion. If that sounds like you (or someone you do business with), welcome back to the Franchise Update International Report!

Now, a year later, with a greater understanding of the virus and vaccines beginning to spread instead, we’re hearing from franchisors across the spectrum that they’re beginning to cast their development sights abroad once again. So we’re back to help them make that happen.

Much of our coverage will inevitably involve how franchisors have adapted – and are continuing to adapt – to a world forever changed by Covid. Some changes will be temporary; many will be permanent. And, as noted in the next article by international franchise development guru Bill Edwards, hybrid models have evolved, marrying pre-pandemic practices with innovations developed in the past year.

These new ways of doing business, with an accelerated adoption of various technologies, will apply to every aspect of franchising in the future: recruitment, development, onboarding, training, support, marketing, and more.

So with that said, it’s time to raise your sights and start looking overseas again. The opportunities for growth are, literally, global!
