Tacotime Smothers Taste Buds With Flavor With New 'smothered Chimichanga'

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ (Tuesday, October 25, 2005) - Upscale Mexican Quick Service restaurant chain, TacoTime, will be serving its all-new Smothered Chimichangas November 7-January 8 as a limited time offer at all locations.

The Smothered Chimichanga features a large, soft flour tortilla filled with beans and either grilled marinated steak or chicken or seasoned lean ground beef. It is topped with Enchilada sauce, melted cheddar cheese, and sour cream and served with a side of seasoned rice and refried beans, lettuce, crunchy taco chips, and salsa fresca.

TacoTime is known for offering generous portions of quality ingredients in products not usually found in a quick service environment. The Smothered Chimichanga is the latest in a series of "plated" items currently offered at TacoTime. Developed to satisfy consumer demand for larger portions and more variety, the Smothered Chimichanga follows the launch of TacoTime's wildly successful Shredded Beef Enchilada Platter, which was introduced as a limited time offer in November, 2004.

The Enchilada Platter featured two corn tortillas loaded with a choice of slow-simmered, lean shredded beef or grilled white chicken and a blend of pepperjack and cheddar cheese, smothered with red chile enchilada sauce, cheddar cheese and real sour cream. Served with seasoned rice and refried pinto beans, the platter offered an outstanding value and authentic Mexican taste for $4.50-$5.The Enchiladas proved so successful, TacoTime re-introduced the product as a limited time offer February 28-April 3, 2005.

TacoTime also offers its core signature enchilada-style burrito, the Casita Burrito, as a plated item. The Casita Burrito features a flour tortilla filled with refried beans, choice of seasoned lean ground beef or all-white grilled chicken and sour cream smothered with enchilada sauce, cheddar cheese and sour cream. It is served with taco chips, lettuce and salsa fresca.

For 45 years now, TacoTime has been an industry leader in quality, quick-service Mexican food. Back in 1960, Ron Fraedrick created the fresh, craveable taste of TacoTime in Eugene, Oregon.

Since then, TacoTime has become famous for its signature Crisp Burritos, Crisp Tacos, ½ lb. Soft Tacos, Veggie Burritos, Enchilada Style Casita Burrito, and zesty Stuffed Mexi-Fries. TacoTime also offers an extensive Salsa Bar, which gives guests the opportunity to customize their own meals. Today, TacoTime has more than 400 locations worldwide.

TacoTime is owned and franchised by Kahala Corp, headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona.
