Jenny Craig Executive Joins Ranks Of Certified Franchise Professionals

(Wednesday, February 28, 2007) - Victor DeSio, Director of Franchise Operations & Development at Jenny Craig, Inc., was recognized as a Certified Franchise Executive by the Institute of Certified Franchise Executives after completing a comprehensive course of study in franchise management. The institute is the academic branch of the International Franchise Association (IFA)'s Educational Foundation. IFA, the world's largest and oldest trade organization representing the franchising sector, counts among its members more than 1,100 franchise systems, 8,000 franchisees and 400 suppliers.

DeSio joined Jenny Craig as Director of Franchise Development in June 2003. He is responsible for expanding into new franchise markets, as well as providing support to the current franchise owners in 31 markets nationwide.

With more than 16 years experience in the franchising arena, DeSio previously served as Vice President of Franchise Support for Image Arts, Etc. From 1999 to 2001, he was Director of Franchise Operations for Brake Depot Systems, Inc. Prior to that, he was directly involved with the startup of Mail Boxes Etc., as Senior Director of Franchise Relations.


More than 500 candidates are currently enrolled in the CFE program. Certified Franchise Executives benefit from acquiring specialized knowledge, sector recognition, peer-level networking and professional standing. Candidates must complete a rigorous course of study to earn the CFE designation, which includes attending institute-sponsored educational seminars and workshops. The program is designed to enhance franchising professionals' understanding of both the sector's fundamental and complex aspects.
