August 30, 2007 // Franchising.com // New York, New York — The Bear Stearns Companies Inc. today announced the appointment of John Moore as chief executive officer for its businesses in Asia, responsible for overseeing the Firm's continued expansion across the region and the growth of existing and new business lines. Mr. Moore will take up his new role from the start of September and will be based at the Firm's offices in Tokyo and Hong Kong. He will report to Michel Péretié, head of Europe and Asia.
Mr. Péretié commented on the appointment, "Our business in Asia is growing at a significant rate and we are committed to increasing our investment in people and technology to deliver the best products and services to our clients. John is a great manager and business leader who has already played a big part in the growth of the Firm. He is ideally suited to working with the talented team in Asia to take that business to the next step in its rapid development."
Mr. Moore joined Bear Stearns in March 2001 as global head of Agency Capital Markets in New York. In 2004 he moved to London to manage Fixed Income Sales and Trading. In 2006 he became co-head of Fixed Income for Europe and was appointed as a member of the European executive committee. He holds a BA in Economics from Yale University and an MBA from Northwestern University.
