UK Based Company Spiral Cellars Franchising in the USA

January 04, 2008 // Franchising.com // - (West Sussex, England) Spiral Cellars has announced they are launching an aggressive expansion program through franchising.

Spiral Cellar provides the quickest, cheapest, and easiest way of building home wine cellars. In five days, a wine cellar is installed allowing homeowners to store 650 to 1600 bottles of wine beneath their home.

The Spiral Cellar system was first developed by a Frenchman, Georges Harnois, in 1978, who recognized that few modern houses had cellars, but people still wanted somewhere to store their wine. Over the last two and a half decades, more than 20,000 Spiral Cellars have been built in France and over 2,500 in the UK, where the company has been operating since 1981.

According to a study by British firm ISWR/DGR, the United States is set to become the largest wine-drinking country in the world by 2008. In response, Spiral Cellars has turned to franchising in America to capitalize on this phenomenon.

"Demand is very high," notes Lucy Hargreaves, Director of Spiral Cellars. "We have so many potential customers across the USA contacting us requesting that we install a cellar. Being based in the UK it isn't practical to send a team over as and when required. In order to cater for demand and offer the product across the whole of the states, franchising is the best option."

Spiral Cellars has engaged the world renowned franchise consulting firm, Francorp, to assist them in their franchising endeavors. For more information, visit www.spiralcellars.com.
