Canadian Franchise Association Announces 2008 Frankie Award Finalists

April 15, 2008 // Franchising.com // - TORONTO – The Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) is pleased to announce the 2008 Frankie Award finalists in 15 categories, representing the top advertising and marketing in Canadian franchising.

Prime Restaurants led the way as a finalist in six categories. Prime Restaurants is one of Canada's leading chains of casual dining restaurants and pubs including East Side Mario's, Casey's Grill Bar, Fionn MacCool's, and D'Arcy McGee's. Other finalists in a number of categories are Mr. Lube with five finalist rankings, and Pizza Pizza and Oxford Learning Centres recognized with four award categories each.

Hosted by CFRB 1010 host, John Moore, and produced by the CFA, the 15th annual Frankie Awards Gala Dinner and Ceremony will take place on Monday, May 5, 2008 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. during the annual CFA National Convention at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, Ontario.

Frankie Award entries are submitted by franchisors, advertising agencies and franchising support service providers across Canada. 237 entries were reviewed by a panel of judges among the top professionals in the fields of creative, production and marketing. The entries were judged on clarity of message, originality of concept, effective use of medium, quality of execution, and overall presentation. The top three in each category win gold, silver and bronze awards. The gold winner is presented with a Frankie Award statuette and certificate. Silver and bronze winners receive Frankie Award certificates.

The Humber College Award recognizes three entries with a Gold, Silver and Bronze award from all submissions in every category for overall exceptional design as voted by the college's Advertising and Graphic Design students.

Each year, the Frankie Awards celebrates the creative contributions and excellence in advertising and marketing for Canadian franchising. The Frankie Awards are part of CFA National Convention taking place at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, Ontario from May 4 – 6, 2008.
