The store owner will be making a $500 donation to Cops 4 Kids & Communities at a public safety expo to be held Saturday, March 21st, 2009 from 10 am to 3 pm.
"Coming from a strong military background, I feel this event was too important to pass up," Hurst said when asked about his sponsorship involvement. "Our store supports the San Jacinto community wherever possible." Hurst spent nearly 24 years in the Marine Corps, and admires the nonprofit organization for their work with the youth of the local community.
So there will be no need for alarm when you see bomb squads, sheriffs' helicopters and fire trucks descending upong the Esplanade Shopping Center that Saturday morning. The event, which is free to the public, will feature demonstrations by local firefighters, the military and the sheriff's department to promote safety education with food and prizes. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Battle of the Bands competition.
In addition, the store will feature give-aways and special offers throughout the day of the event, including coupons for free mailbox rental and UPS and FedEx shipping discounts.
