December 02, 2011 // Franchising.com // (Madison Heights, MI)--- Hungry Howie’s Pizza & Subs, Inc. joined the fight against breast cancer again in 2011, raising $225,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc®. This was the third year for the Love, Hope & Pizza campaign, which raised more than $250,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation in 2009 and 2010.
For the campaign, which took place in October, all pizzas were served in bright pink boxes emblazoned with breast cancer awareness ribbons instead of the classic yellow boxes Hungry Howie’s usually features. Hungry Howie’s made a donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation for every pizza purchased. They also made a donation for every new Facebook fan, for every breast cancer story fans shared on the Hungry Howie’s Facebook page, and for every tweet using the hashtag #lovehopepizza throughout October.
“The third year for Love, Hope & Pizza was the most successful yet and we were able to pass our fundraising goal for October by more than $25,000,” said Jeff Rinke, vice president of marketing. “Hungry Howie’s is so proud to be able to donate $225,000 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation and to help make a difference in the lives of women suffering from breast cancer.”
