Value Place has facilitated a mattress donation program between the Wichita area Value Place properties and His Helping Hands, benefitting its network of Wichita families in need.
On Thursday, March 29 volunteer teams from the Value Place Home Office and the Value Place Wichita North hotel (K96 & Oliver) will haul all gently used mattresses out of the hotel, and load on to the His Helping Hands truck from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Helping Hands truck will depart the hotel at 4 p.m. ready to provide around 100 mattresses to their new owners who are families in the His Helping Hands network. Other pieces of furniture that the hotel is replacing, such as dressers and chairs, will also be contributed to this gift.
Value Place President and Chief Operating Officer Kyle Rogg has had experiences with such donations before and shares, “Value Place is investing in our properties and our ‘hometown’ by donating these mattresses. Having personally delivered mattresses to kids who didn’t own a bed, I know these mattresses from our property will be put to good use. His Helping Hands does great work in Wichita, providing both physical and spiritual help to those in need.”
The donation of mattresses in particular fits the Value Place principle of providing comfort to its valued guests. This donation of beds from Value Place will be a huge blessing to many under-resourced families in the Wichita area as His Helping Hands strives to assist those deserving aid the most in our community. We collaborate with other ministries, agencies, schools and employers to identify those families that desperately need beds.
