July 09, 2012 // Franchising.com // Denver - Ryan Clough, a former counsel in the U.S. House of Representatives, has joined Faegre Baker Daniels LLP as an associate in the intellectual property group. He will work from the law firm's Denver office.
Before joining Faegre Baker Daniels, Clough spent 3½ years in Washington, D.C., under Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.). Working in the office of a senior member of the House Judiciary Committee from Silicon Valley, the focus of his Congressional work was on intellectual property, technology policy and the Internet. Clough did extensive work during committee and floor proceedings on a wide variety of IP legislation, such as the America Invents Act, and played a key role in the opposition against the Stop Online Piracy Act.
Prior to his congressional work, Clough practiced antitrust law and international arbitration at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in Washington, D.C. He also has litigated capital habeas petitions in state and federal courts in California.
Clough graduated from Harvard Law School in 2006 and magna cum laude from Emory University in 2003.
