The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is expanding its art collection with the addition of a portrait depicting one of the sport's most famous players. "Babe Ruth" by Rossin, a 72 x 60 inch oil on canvas, uniquely captures the athlete during his early years with the New York Yankees.
The painting was commissioned and will be donated to the Hall of Fame by national lease-to-own retailer Aaron's, Inc. in commemoration of opening its milestone 2,000th store September 28 in the Bronx. Former New York Yankees manager Joe Torre will attend the grand opening event as Aaron's special guest and will officially unveil the portrait during a ribbon cutting ceremony. The artist, Rossin, is an internationally acclaimed portrait artist who has done work for United States presidents, the Vatican, the Royal Family and celebrities.
Aaron's, Inc. (NYSE: AAN), the nation's leader in the sales and lease ownership and specialty retailing of residential furniture, consumer electronics, home appliances and accessories, has 2,000 Company-operated and franchised stores in 48 states and Canada.
