Snap Fitness Continues International Growth, Signs Deals in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Egypt and Mexico

November 30, 2012 // Franchising.com // MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – As 2012 comes to a close, the world’s leading fitness franchise is preparing for its biggest year yet by strengthening its global reach with aggressive expansion plans.

With nearly 1,400 clubs already open and operating in seven countries, Snap Fitness recently announced newly signed Master agreements that will bring its proven concept to Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia Egypt and Mexico.

“Health and fitness are universal concerns,” said Peter Taunton, Founder and CEO of Snap Fitness. “Our model provides a quick and convenient work out that resonates with any demographic and ethnicity. We look forward to our continued growth across the globe and are eager to see where the Snap Fitness brand takes us next.”

Taunton says that plans are in place for over 700 new locations to open in the new markets over the next five years, with new clubs opening in Singapore, Egypt, and Mexico City in the first quarter of 2013. Snap has partnered with some of the industry’s best operators from all over the world, who will use their expertise and experience to help continue to the success of the Snap Fitness brand:

“As someone who’s been involved in the industry for their entire life, passion about fitness comes with the territory,” Lowe said. “Snap Fitness is a proven global leader in the fitness arena and the brand is one I can genuinely get behind 100 percent. The quality standards and franchise system Snap has put in to place has prepared the brand for success in not just Southeast Asia and Hong Kong, but in markets worldwide. I’m very excited about the future of the brand and look forward to being instrumental in its continued success.”

In addition to these recently added countries, Snap Fitness plans to continue its momentum in 2013 by entering an additional four to six international markets by year-end.

While Snap Fitness offers the same quality equipment as traditional health clubs, the booming brand is setting industry standards by focusing on complete member wellness and providing a host of products and services designed to give members better results and more value for their money. By scaling down in size to approximately 232 to 325 square meters (2,500-3,500 square feet) and eliminating unnecessary amenities such as swimming pools and racquetball courts, Snap Fitness offers customers a quality, affordable workout with strong emphasis on customer service and convenience.
