July 9, 2013 – CUPS Frozen Yogurt – That’s Hot™, the beach-themed self-serve fro-yo concept, will celebrate the grand opening of its first California location on Thursday, July 11 at 1025 Westminster Mall in Westminster, California. CUPS Westminster will open to the public at 5 pm and be offering free frozen yogurt from 5 – 9 pm.
Since opening the first CUPS in Clifton, New Jersey in 2010, CUPS has taken the fro-yo industry by storm, becoming the local hot spot for teenagers and adults alike who make their own fro-yo concoctions choosing from 24 yogurt flavors and over 50 different toppings and three sauces.
The Exchange, a popular Yahoo Finance blog, recently named CUPS as one of “The Most Popular Fast-Food Outlets You Haven’t Heard Of (Yet).” With 14 locations in New York, New Jersey and now California, CUPS has signed more than 12 area development agreements presenting approximately 30 franchise units.
According to CUPS co-founder Rick Barbrick, CUPS is much more than great frozen yogurt; CUPS was designed around the experience.
“It’s more of a club like experience. We pump out club dance music at volumes that create a highly energetic vibe, a lounge-type design with couches, ottomans and eclectic murals; and Cast Members with infectiously fun personalities. It’s the complete experience that gives us that edgy vibe versus an everyday yogurt bar or ice cream shop experience,” said Barbrick.
During the grand opening week beginning July 11, each Westminster customer will be given a “scratch off” card, which contains prizes such as wristbands, beach balls, water bottles, beach towels and CUPS coupons. One lucky winner will receive free fro-yo for a year.
