DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - July 11, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ - Preferred Care at Home's annual convention was held on April 30-May 2 at the historic Hotel Del Coronado in sunny San Diego, California. The theme "Good Vibrations," after the Beach Boys hit song, was intended to complement the California setting while also focusing on the goal of the convention: to inform and inspire attendees to create a greater positive impact in the communities they serve.
Home care industry analyst Stephen Tweed, from Leading Home Care, and others shared their expertise about best home care practices. Yet, the most valuable part of an annual convention is the opportunity to interact with owners from across the nation.
"Throughout the year we are all very busy and we don't have the time to really call one another and exchange ideas on how to grow our business," Says Danny Chu, owner of Preferred Care at Home of Central Contra Costa, Ca. "The annual convention allowed me to pick the brains of both the Preferred Care at Home corporate team and, more importantly, the successful franchise owners that attended."
Seventeen home-care franchises from across the country received the Presidential Awards. The states with honored offices include: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey and Tennessee.
Suzanne Hickel, owner of Preferred Care at Home of Alaska, has reached the highest honor for the second year in a row, Preferred Care at Home's "Top Producer". Hickel is known for her personal touch to customer service.
"If you want to discover the heart of home care, get to know Suzanne Hickel," says Jody Guerrieri, R.N., vice president of Preferred Care at Home. "She always goes above and beyond in the care she provides."
The title of Top Producer was met with friendly competition from 2011 Rookie of the Year winners, Preferred Care at Home of Macomb, Mich., Jason Groth, Mike Barnhard, and Bob Mlynarek, who were close contenders.
Preferred Care at Home of Nashville North and Sumner County, Tenn., owners Patricia Wissel and Dennis Clifford, received "Rookie of the Year" Award for 2012.
This award was given to Gary Knox, owner of Preferred Care at Home of Grand Rapids and Lansing, Michigan. Knox showed resilience through tough times and adversity, and demonstrated the impact you can have on your community when you "Never, never, never give up."
