Calling all Calgarians! Men In Kilts Need your Help to Beat the Guinness World Record for 'Largest Human Smiley'

Calgarians Will Come Together to Break a Guinness World Record

Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) September 06, 2013 - In 1999, commercial artist Harvey Ball created World Smile Day - a day devoted to being kind and making people smile. This year World Smile Day is Friday, October 4th and Men In Kilts Calgary has big plans for the day. The window and exterior cleaning company with locations across North America, anticipates that up to 5000 people will assemble at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary to attempt the world record for 'Largest Human Smiley'.

The Guinness Book of World Records has given approval to Men In Kilts to be the next in line to attempt the current world record set by 3,737 people who made a human smiley face at a university in India last year.

The recent floods in Calgary may have devastated the city, but that has not stopped Calgarians from smiling. Men In Kilts Calgary franchise owner, Chris Carrier comments, “We had a number of employees volunteer to help with flood relief efforts and experienced first-hand how Calgarians work together in a time of need. This is an awesome way for the city to now come together for a fun event.”

The event will take place Friday October 4th at Canada Olympic Park from 4:30pm- 6:00pm (MST). Calgarians are invited to come out with their families and friends to participate in this short, but impactful event. Only children over the age of 12 will be allowed to participate as the event may require 15-30 minute periods of standing with no access to washrooms. Tickets are $10.00 per person and proceeds will go to Flood Relief efforts and WinSport - an organization that helps train local winter athletes. Participants will receive a yellow poncho when they arrive which must be worn during the attempt. Parking is free.

Men In Kilts CEO Tressa Wood says, “This is a rare opportunity for people to participate in breaking a Guinness World Record. We are anticipating a great turnout.”

Men In Kilts is looking for corporate sponsors for this event. If you or your company would like to make a donation or contribution, or would like to participate in any way, please contact: Megan at mnemeth(at)meninkilts(dot)com.

So come be a part of history and help Men In Kilts Calgary “bring smiles to the world…one kilt at a time.” Or in this case “Bring the largest human smile to the world, one Calgarian at a time.”

Please go tohttp://www.meninkiltsworldrecord.eventbrite.cato print and buy your tickets. There are only 5000 tickets available and they must be ordered in advance; no tickets will be available for purchase at the event.
