Regine Sixt honored with the "Golden Victoria for Integration 2013"

The Germany Foundation Integration Prize will be awarded on the Association of German Publisher’s (VDZ) Publisher’s Night

October 21, 2013 // Franchising.com // Munich – This year the Germany Foundation for Integration, an Intiative of the VDZ, is awarding the "Golden Victoria for Integration" to Regine Sixt. The jury, which is made up of the foundation’s board, is honoring the board chairperson of the Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation for her outstanding commitment and her dedication to understanding, education and equal opportunity.

The multifaceted and exemplary actions and merits of Regine Sixt in promoting a positive image of Germany abroad were the main reasons why the jury decided to award her the "Golden Victoria 2013 for Integration." Mrs. Sixt is, for example, member of the Board of Governors at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and is on the Board of trustees of the Jerusalem Foundation.

At her husband’s side, Regine Sixt developed their rental car company from a local supplier into a globally active corporation. Regine Sixt established the Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation more than 10 years ago. Since becoming a foundation it has been Sixt car rental’s official CSR program in the 105 countries where the company is active. The foundation is divided into four program areas: health, public welfare, education and emergency aid. It promotes third-party children’s aid projects and also takes up initiatives that are developed and implemented worldwide. The foundation around Regine Sixt is active nationally and internationally, particularly in the fight against child poverty.

In Germany the foundation has cooperated for several years on joint projects with "One Heart for Children" and, beginning this year, with the Maltese Emergency Service. As a supporter of the "Opportunity Foundation – Educational Sponsors for Children" the Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation acts on behalf of children from low-income families by financing intensive and professional private tutoring for them, which is particularly beneficial to immigrant children.
Regine Sixt is the sixth recipient of the Golden Victoria for Integration.

Regine Sixt: "I would like to thank the German Foundation for Integration very much for this significant award. For me and my workers, the Golden Victoria is a great incentive to continue doing everything we can to help children in need. With great pride I will dedicate this prize to the needy children of the world."

Wolfgang Fürstner, spokesperson of the board of the German Foundation for Integration: "The German Foundation for Integration is very happy to be able to present the Golden Victoria for Integration to Regine Sixt this year. In her, the foundation is recognizing a personality who, from her sense of social responsibility as a businesswoman, shows a high degree of personal commitment to equal opportunity. Her numerous projects to assist disadvantaged children are exemplary and send a message internationally."
