(OTC: VEND) announced the sale of its 2,500th vending machine, resulting in aggregate gross revenue of more than $25 million from January 2010 through Sept., 30, 2013. In November 2012, Mayor Emanuel announced new healthy vending machines to be located across all city departments. The mayor introduced an ordinance that transitions all of the vending machines in city buildings into healthy vending machines. "These new vending machines will make it easier than ever before for city employees and the public to make healthy lifestyle decisions," said Mayor Emanuel in a press release. "When city employees take their wellness into their own hands, we can reduce health care costs and also serve as a model for the residents of Chicago when it comes to making healthy choices."
