January 22, 2014 // Franchising.com // Chicago - World Franchise Associates (WFA) has successfully brokered a country development agreement to bring Indianapolis-based restaurant chain Steak 'n Shake to Saudi Arabia. The deal was signed between AB Holdings and Steak 'n Shake, and was overseen by WFA founder and CEO Paul Cairnie.
The country development agreement will bring 50 Steak 'n Shake locations to Saudi Arabia over five years. AB Holdings is a highly successful conglomerate with a strong track record across multiple sectors and regions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It has diversified its economic activities and has constructed and operated numerous commercial, industrial and residential projects.
Steak 'n Shake is the leader in the fast casual "better burger" segment of the restaurant industry. The company establishes and operates both corporate and multi-unit franchise territories with over 500 restaurants across the U.S.
Founded by Paul Cairnie in 1998 and headquartered in London and Chicago, WFA enables franchisors to enter new international markets by assisting them in identifying qualified candidates wishing to invest in a franchise system as an area developer, master franchisee, or multi-unit or multi-country franchisee.
