South Korean Businessman Will Bring Chem-Dry Floor Cleaning Franchise to the Philippines

MANILA, PHILIPPINES - (Marketwired - May 20, 2015) - Chem-Dry, the world's largest floor cleaning franchise, will soon open in the Philippines thanks to a South Korean investor who is eager to bring the brand to the island nation of 107 million people.

Yea hoon Lee joined Chem-Dry of South Korea as a sales manager in 1992, and bought the master franchise rights for that nation in 2006. Lee bought the Chem-Dry brand in South Korea to compete head-to-head against another floor cleaning company. "Chem-Dry offers a better product," he says. "It is safer, the cleaning solutions are natural, and it dries much more quickly."

Those advantages have helped Chem-Dry win clients like hotels and office buildings, as well as residential cleaning customers who know they can trust Chem-Dry to do a great job cleaning carpets, tile, stone and other surfaces.

Lee decided to expand into the Philippines because he saw it as a perfect opportunity. Lee says that the emerging economy of the Philippines reminds him of South Korea in the early 1990s. He sees a similar future for the Philippines. Language was another factor in his decision. Lee speaks English, and knew that would help him communicate with customers and employees in the Philippines. Chem-Dry of the Philippines will be based in Manila.

Chem-Dry continues global growth

Chem-Dry, which has 3,500 franchise units in nearly 50 countries worldwide, has been expanding its international partnerships since 1987. In addition to the expansion into the Philippines, Chem-Dry has recently engage master franchises to bring the brand to Spain, India, Egypt and France.
