First Responders and Employees at the Heart of Relief Plan

September 08, 2017 // Franchising.com // SAN DIEGO, - In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey throughout the Texas Gulf, Jack in the Box® announced today an immediate relief plan that places first responders and impacted restaurant workers at the heart of its efforts. Beginning today, free combos are available to uniformed first responders and county officials at Jack in the Box restaurants in the Houston area.

“Our employees in the Texas Gulf have been an inspiration to their Jack in the Box family and the community at large,” said Frances Allen, Brand President at Jack in the Box Inc. “From working tirelessly to provide shelter to neighbors displaced by the devastating flooding to working hard to re-open our team has been a symbol of strength and an example of what’s possible when we band together.”

With a strong restaurant presence across the region, Jack in the Box is committed to supporting recovery over the long term. A multi-month recovery plan is under development that will help ensure continued, sustained aid from restaurants, customers, franchisees and business partners.

“For nearly 55 years, our restaurants have been an integral part of many of the communities devastated by Harvey,” added Allen. “So we’re taking a long-term view when it comes to supporting our neighbors while they recover from this disaster.”

Jack in the Box’s additional immediate relief efforts include the following:

Jack in the Box will continue raising financial aid and providing meals to communities in need over the coming weeks, which will be supplemented by its long-term recovery plan that will ensure communities receive support over the months to come.
