WorkLodge of Tampa is the first location in Florida and will be owned and operated by local entrepreneurs Dan and Shantell McLean and Anthony Pergola, who were attracted to WorkLodge because of its premium and high-end workspaces and community feel, providing a sense of pride for its tenant business owners.

Before moving to Houston 14 years ago from the United Kingdom, Thakur journeyed from work with a security company specializing in kidnapping for ransom and extortion. Because of the line of work, there was no central office, so Thakur sought shared office spaces. After finding only a few underwhelming, confining locations, he saw an opportunity for an energized workspace and immediately began to look for real estate in Houston to open his own.

The total initial investment to open a WorkLodge ranges from $300,000-$1.5 million. WorkLodge seeks franchise partners in new markets and markets where WorkLodge is already present for multi- and single-unit agreements.
