March 18, 2020 // Franchising.com // Chillicothe, OH - There has been a lot of information circulating about coronavirus and we know some of you may have questions about how this may affect your pets. Petland wants to share with you the latest communications from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) pertaining to COVID 19 (coronavirus) and pets. There has been significant miscommunications recently about the risk of pet infections and possible transfer to humans. At this time, there does not appear to be evidence that companion pets can be infected with the virus, let alone spread it.
The health and safety of our pets, and our customers, is our number one priority. Petland stores practice CDC-recommended sanitization procedures and provide multiple hand sanitation stations in our stores for our customers to use. We also have sanitation protocols in place for the kennels, floors and socialization rooms.
We at Petland urge everyone to follow the CDC’s recommendations for hand washing (see link below). We also ask that if you are suffering from flu-like symptoms or upper respiratory distress, you take the proper precautions to avoid spreading any germs.
