On The Border Opens First Nebraska Restaurant in Papillion

July 14, 2023 // Franchising.com // OMAHA, Neb. – On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina today announces the opening of its first restaurant in Nebraska with well-established franchise owners Amy and Bryant Morrison. The restaurant is located at 8810 S. 71st Plaza in Papillion and will serve guests for dine-in, pick up, delivery, and catering. Its hours will be Sunday-Thursday 11 a.m.-10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m.-11 p.m. with happy hour specials Monday-Friday 4 p.m.-7p.m. at the bar and patio. 

The Morrisons signed a franchise agreement with On The Border to open three Nebraska locations over the next few years, with the Papillion restaurant as the first. The Morrisons have a successful On The Border location in Rapid City, S.D. and bring more than 20 years of restaurant experience, ranging from fast food to full-service restaurants.

Greater Omaha area guests can now enjoy On The Border’s authentic Tex-Mex food and festive experience with family and friends. On The Border is famous for their mesquite wood fire grill and signature menu items such as its sizzling fajitas, plus house made salsa and guacamole served fresh with endless complimentary chips made in house. 

“We look forward to opening our doors for the Papillion community to experience something sizzling and fun,” says Amy Morrison, franchise owner at On The Border. “Our team is hitting the ground running to serve up great Tex-Mex food with a genuine guest service.”

The Papillion restaurant marks the brand’s very first site in Nebraska. More than 100 team members have been trained for the restaurant opening.
