Epcon Adds Vice President of Public Affairs

May 08, 2025 // Franchising.com // DUBLIN, Ohio – Epcon Communities is proud to announce Nanette Pfister as its first Vice President of Public Affairs.

Pfister will be responsible for engaging with local and state home building associations, advocating with state and local political and regulatory groups that affect the home building industry and leading Epcon’s philanthropic activities. She will also be a spokesperson for public relations opportunities.

“It’s always been important to Epcon to be forward thinking, and adding this new position is a great example of how we are thinking of the future,” said Epcon CEO Joel Rhoades. “With our current and planned growth, we want to be sure we are proactively preparing to meet any upcoming challenges and becoming more responsible and involved corporate citizens in each of our regions.”

Pfister joined Epcon in 2000 as Marketing Services Manager and was promoted to Vice President of Sales in 2007, where she has played a pivotal role in the company’s sales growth. Pfister is actively involved in the Central Ohio Building Industry Association (BIA), currently serving on the Foundation Board and holding an Executive Chair seat on the BIA Board of Directors. In 2027, she will become President of the Central Ohio BIA. Pfister has also won many local and national awards throughout her career, including a Silver Award for Sales Manager of the Year at The Nationals and the Legacy Award from the Central Ohio BIA. In 2018, Nanette was honored by the Ohio Senate for her contribution to the building industry and the community.

“Nanette brings industry experience, excellent communication skills, exceptional people skills, leadership qualities and professionalism to this new role,” Rhoades said. “She exudes the confidence and characteristics important to the Epcon brand, so she is the perfect fit for our first Vice President of Public Affairs.”

This new position is the first time Epcon has had one person focused on being the voice of the brand, coordinating with all internal departments and external organizations on public affairs issues through zoning, approvals, permitting and beyond.

“Advocacy is so important at this time in our industry,” Pfister said. “I am thrilled to be Epcon’s first Vice President of Public Affairs and to work with local and national industry coalitions, as well as key stakeholders in the markets where we build, to be a voice in policy forums and to support everywhere Epcon Communities homes are built. We want to make sure we are collaborating with local communities and being good neighbors.”

“Philanthropy is at the core and heart of who Epcon is as a company,” Pfister said. “We’ve always participated in philanthropy but now we are formalizing it so we can make a bigger impact and get more of our team members involved.”

Since 1986, Epcon has built luxury ranch homes with private courtyards that are popular with 55+ buyers. Epcon communities offer low maintenance living, with many communities offering amenities like clubhouses, pools, pickleball courts, walking trails, fitness centers and more based on the size and the location of the community.
